Paul generously invited our family to spend winter weekends up at his Okemo condo for many years of my childhood. Because of this I was able to spend so much time on the slopes falling in love with skiing and honing in on my skills. I learned resiliency to the bitter weather and early wakeups, since apparently it was actually the best day ever every day (just don't say the "R word"). I still ski as much as possible, and think of the great times I had with Paul and family/friends at Okemo. The house is a second home of my childhood, and I won't forget any detail of how "cool" it was with it's big TV (Jurassic park was traumatizing!), window seats, boot room, and fireplace you could see from two sides!
Paul also invited us to visit on Martha's Vineyard where he introduced my to the horrors and adrenaline of surfing the waves to the beach sea kayaking! Even though I only tried it that one day and my scrapes and bruises have since healed, it was so memorable.
He opened the door to me for a lifetime of outdoor adventures and adrenaline sports. I always think of him fondly with his kind smile and shared love of music. I absolutely loved seeing his excursion photos and hearing the brave tales. So sad to hear of Paul's passing and beyond grateful for our paths crossing. He is truly a legend!
