We are devastated to hear of Paul’s passing. I’m grateful to have known Paul and proud to call him my friend. Paul’s smile and love are infectious; every interaction with him made you feel better. I admired Paul for many reasons, but the love he had for his children inspired me to be a better dad, even before I became one. He supported me during some of my darkest days; his words had so much impact that I can still remember them word for word decades later. When you spoke to Paul, you knew how much he cared about you and was speaking directly from his heart. He regularly called out of the blue, and no matter where you were, you answered. One day, he called as I arrived at the driving range, walking to the wedge area. We hadn’t spoken in maybe 6-8 months, which was rare. I had just filled a bucket with balls, he was in his “go mode,” and at that point, there was no getting a word in edgewise. I put him on speaker and hit the whole bucket before he came up for air! When I told him I just hit a whole bucket, he dropped his typical closer “well, there’s that” and we both just started laughing. I met Paul when he bought his place in Aquinnah, and my last call with him in late December was about his place in Aquinnah, full circle. I miss him already and know heaven just got one of the great ones. Thank you for sharing Paul with us; my family is better because he is a part of it
