Paul was a great friend to me and our entire family for over 40 years. We had many good times and adventures. He was always OPEN and Sharing. Ever the optimist; he saw the unlimited GOOD in everyone whether justified, earned OR not. Paul was about unqualified Love of his friends and mankind.
Some memories and stories –
Okemo. Paul and Vanessa opened their homes to us on the mountain so we could ski as a family many weekends for a number of of years. We now continue that family tradition, skiing with our kids and grandkids. Paul’s legacy to us is skiing as a family. World Cup, Chief … Best Day Ever
Music. Went to many rock concerts with Paul, seeing Yes, Bob Dylan, Van Morrison. But the best was Seeing the Grateful Dead in the Worcester Centrum with Paul, Vanessa, Erica, and our family. Allie and Sienna were there also as I remember. Of course, Paul got to hear his favorite song Going Down that Road Feeling Bad. Also, Dear Mr. Fantasy and Not Fade Away. One of the best concerts.
The first time I took my daughter Sally to ski with Paul’s family at Okemo, he and Vanessa were out for dinner when we arrived. It was our luck to meet Allie and Sienna who were with Erica and to learn that Allie and Sienna also were fans of the Dead. Our friendship has continued of course with many concerts and good times.
When Paul went to Patagonia for a trek one winter, he asked us to take care of his new trailside condo at Okemo. So generous and open. It was a true gift. One legend from the Patagonia trip – Paul’s group did not know the way to go; the guide was confused. Well Paul just “knew” the way and started leading the group and they all believed him and followed him.
Paul had such charisma, confidence, and trust, that you believed him and would follow him. Anywhere……
We made so many good lifelong friends through Paul.
Our best wishes and thoughts to Allie, Paul J, Sienna, Erica, Amelia, and Naomi. Our lives are so much richer because of Paul, his friendship and yours.
All our LOVE, David, Michelle, Sally and Ruthie
